Sing along with me…”I don’t like mechanical spiders and snakes…”
Not everyone sings this song, of course. Especially the French Company La Machine that has created a 15-meter (50′) 37-ton mechanical spider which is parading along the Liverpool waterfront.
So…is this the French getting back at the English for some past misdeed?
And, what about this, um, big fellow for a pet or show-and-tell at school?
Zhang Xinyang is just 13-years old. He is also a graduate student at one of China’s most prestigious universities - Beijing University of Technology.
He enrolled in college when he was 10-years old and completed the four year program in three years while most other students were cramming four years of courses into five, six or even seven years.
Zhang will be studying mathematics.
Yeah, but can he compute the 15% tip he wants to add to the restaurant bill? I know some E.E. PhDs who can’t do that.
Still, Zhang is to be given credit for excelling, and his parents and the university, too for giving the boy a chance…as long as he still has time to be a boy. In that last pic…it seems he does.
A Readers Digest article I read a long time ago told me there were two main reasons people went to the beach.
1. to look at the others - muscle dudes and girls in bikins
2. to be looked at - as you strut your stuff in your bikini and Speedo.
There’s a massive bikini party going on in Sanya, Hainan Province. It was organized by the Sanya city government and Trendshealth Magazine.
Some 1000 Chinese girls showed up in their bikinis. Dang it! Where is that press pass when I need it? Seriously. Why am I sitting here when these young ladies are running around there?
As the black preacher once said, “Help me, somebody. Help me.”
Sure looks to me like she is working in an Asian factory that is doing the iPhone thing.
“News reports say the woman may work at a factory run by an Apple contractor, Taiwan-based Foxconn Technology Group, in the southern Chinese boomtown of Shenzhen.”

Kiron weighed 5.5 kilograms (12.1 lbs). He has one stomach and eats normally from both mouths. He has one genital organ and a full set of limbs. He was born by Cesarean section on 8/25.
The mother is 22-years old and the hospital says both are at risk from anxious crowds.
When babies are born with physical abnormalities in Bangladesh or India they are often thought to be gods. People are already leaving money for little Kiron.
Last year, a little girl was born with eight limbs and many believed she was the reincarnation of the four-armed Hindu goddess of wealth.
In any event, mom and dad have a whole lot of adjusting to make.
